The opinion of the sommelier

« Over the last few months, with the team, we tasted several cuvees from Chinon, produced with Cabernet Franc, but we didn’t find any that we really enjoyed, except this one! The Manzagol family is very passionate about grapevines and earth, and that is why it decided to cultivate its grapevines using organic techniques. In this cuvee, the winemaker succeeded in softening tannins of the Cabernet Franc, that can sometimes be too bitter. Don’t hesitate to let us know what you think about this cuvee! »

Terroir

Grapevines of this cuvee are planted on clay-limestone soils. This is a well-balanced soil combining clay and its freshness to the filtering ability of limestone. Wines produced on this kind of soil are sophisticated. Enjoy the fruit aromas and the delicacy of this powerful cuvee.

lecepage Grape variety

This wine was produced from 100% Cabernet Franc. This grape variety usually produces wines with plant aromas, and especially green pepper. We find Cabernet Franc on half of the cultivated areas in Aquitaine and in the Loire Valley.

lemillesime Vintage

2013 was a difficult year to handle for winemakers. The region suffered from numerous hailstorms, and especially during summer. Fortunately, the end of the season benefited from a better weather.

lerecoltantA wine a family

As often in the wine industry, the de la Noblaie domain is a family-owned business. Indeed, the Manzagol family owns the domain for three generations now. This domain is located in the “Vau Breton” hamlet, which means “the region of Cabernet Franc” in the Rabelais’ language.
