The opinion of the sommelierLocated in the heart of the mountains of Montmirail, this vintage refinement honours the great red wines from the southern part of the Rhone Valley. The nose is subtle and generous : a delicious blend of candied fruits and thyme. A Gigondas full of sun, balanced, with this aromatic power found in all the good wines of the region.
TerroirThe vineyard of Gigondas is an extremely diverse terroir made of pebbles, clay, safres and limestone marls. The Dentellis cuvée takes its power and complexity from this exceptional soil. Ogier made there a fine wine with aromas of red fruits and menthol notes, full-bodied on the palate with a silky texture.
Grape varietyGrenache noir, the famous grape of the southern Rhône Valley, expresses its full potential on the land of Gigondas. Indeed, limiting sunshine in the morning, the mountains of Montmirail allow a good ripening of berries which need time to express themselves better. It dominates the blend and brings to the wines the tannins, the body and a nice ageing potential.
VintageIn 2015, the Rhone Valley has probably experienced one of its best vintages for a few decades. The year began badly with a scorching summer like 2009, but these excesses were perfectly offset by rains in late August, just before the harvest, which brought an ideal amount of water to the vines.
